Thanks to everyone who attended the luncheon. What a wonderful crowd. Hopefully I shared as much knowledge as I received, as I got some wonderful tips and some great resources on storytelling today. I thought I would share them with you.
Excellent book suggestion from Nancy Higgins at Webster University
The Story Factor: Inspiration, Influence, and Persuasion Through the Art of Storytelling. Here is the Amazon link for you to take a look. I just ordered a copy!
Also, Webster has a new emphasis on storytelling. Great stories in writing and video. Check it out here.
Also, fantastic use of storytelling at www.tabbysplace.org
The blog is especially entertaining. Renée Hirshfield of RPH Communications found this group through a Facebook ad and was so moved by the stories, she now sponsors a special needs cat. She gets updates via email about her cat. Excellent use of social networking and web to share stories. Take a look at the Facebook page here.
Also, Kara Kaswell from Webcast Resource was in attendance and said she can help nonprofits tell great stories through video. www.webcastresource.com.
Please email me any more story ideas or tips. I will post them here and on our Facebook page. Thanks!
